Delete your account and data
This page lets you request permanent deletion of your NearbyGPT account and the data associated with it. You do not need the app installed or an active session to use it.
Faster option
If you can still sign in, the fastest route is inside the app: open NearbyGPT and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Use the form below only if you have lost access.
What we delete
Removed permanently once the request is processed.
- Account identity
- Your name, email address, profile photo, and any linked Google sign-in.
- Saved activity
- Restaurants you added to your personal collection.
- Conversation history
- Every request you typed and every recommendation NearbyGPT returned to you.
- Location data
- Any stored area preferences tied to your account.
- Device and diagnostic data
- Device identifiers held in crash reports linked to your account.
What we keep, and why
We are required to disclose anything that survives deletion.
- Aggregated, anonymised analytics
- Counts such as "how many searches mentioned seafood" that can no longer be traced back to you. Kept indefinitely to improve recommendations.
- Records we are legally required to keep
- Transaction, tax, or fraud-prevention records where the law requires retention. Kept only for the period the law requires.
- Encrypted backups
- Your data may persist in routine encrypted backups until those backups rotate out, which happens within 90 days. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
How long it takes

Within 24 hours
Deletion is processed automatically and usually completes within 24 hours of your request being verified.

Up to 30 days
In rare cases processing can take up to 30 days. Once processed, deletion cannot be reversed.

Within 90 days
Your data rotates out of all encrypted backups.
